📣 Emergency services were called to the scene of a boating incident in Coleraine this afternoon after a vessel crashed into sluice gates in the Castleroe Road area. Police said they received a report at around 2.25pm on Wednesday, 18 March that a boat had struck the sluice gates in the area. Officers attended the scene alongside other emergency service colleagues. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it received a 999 call at 2.31pm following reports of the incident and dispatched four emergency ambulances and a rapid response paramedic to the scene. NIAS said no one was taken to hospital following the incident. The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service also attended, but confirmed no action was required. Police added that there were no reports of injuries and no offences were detected. The Air Ambulance was initially tasked to the incident but was later stood down.

❗️ Road Closure Avoid Fyfin Road, Victoria Bridge Please avoid the area of the Fyfin Road between Victoria Road and Liskey Road while police deal with a road traffic collision. The road is currently impassable and police are advising motorists to avoid the area at this time.

Road-users are advised that there is currently a one-lane closure on the M1 westbound, between junctions 9 and 10 near Moira, due to a lorry coming off the road earlier this morning. Please expect delays and seek an alternative route for your journey if possible.
