It wasn't looking good at Punchestown for followers but in the last 2 races we have bagged a 16/1 winner as well as 15/2 and 40/1 places.. hopefully everyone kept the faith and backed them!

This is fascinating if you take it at face value. Take Cavan-Monaghan for example. Sitting TDs are 2 x SF, 2 x FF and 1 x FG On these numbers, FF and FG would be fighting to see who would get the one seat between them.
Ireland Votes@Ireland_Votes

Polling subsamples should always be taken with extreme caution, but today’s Business Post indicates the following support levels in Connacht-Ulster: SF: 37% (+8) INDIRL: 15% (+9) FG: 9% (-10) FF: 8% (-6) Changes with their poll in March.

@TomOHanlon17 I agree. I was convinced this Govt would make it to 2029. I can’t see them lasting another 12 months now.

@unspeakable28 Agreed. It’s the actual inability of senior ministers, not just Harris and Martin to see how out of touch they really are that’s most shocking. They’ll limp on for another while but they’re damaged and being held together by Independents, who will be mostly retiring anyway.

We aren’t quite in the Cowen government days, but it does feel familiar, no matter what the public say, the government are not listening, they don’t know how to. The Taoiseach is too far gone to make his way back, the Tanaiste isn’t much better. Arrogant, tetchy, out of touch.

@seanogcarey Protesters were beneath them and they thought it would all blow over. Then Jim O’Callaghan sent the whole thing to a new level and there was zero coming back from it. Hardly any FG/FF or Govt supporting TD or Senator had the balls to go and speak with protesters.

Listening to Finian McGrath on RTÉ would actually gall you. Trying to big up Barry Heneghan. Colm O’Mongáin quick to point out his links to Heneghan. Interesting him saying also that Michael Healy-Rae had no backbone.

@ReidyConor @MichealLehane I can’t understand Gillian Toole voting confidence when Senator Keogan was so heavily involved in getting her elected. Heneghan is a chancer

@ReidyConor @MichealLehane What does it say about the other Independents who said they were going to vote confidence 🙈 Seems like an absolute curveball

@MichealLehane That felt very dramatic. I wonder did the Taoiseach and Taniste know in advance or was that the first they heard of it?

@rtenews Very misleading headline there when the second paragraph says. “Irish prices would have been the highest in the continent were it not for VAT reductions and energy credits introduced by the government to shield consumers from rising costs.”

Some indications that Government would view a no vote from Danny Healy-Rae in today’s confidence motion as a breach of its agreement with both himself and his brother. It was based on the understanding that two votes secured one ministerial job, which went to Michael Healy-Rae.

@newryhurler1 Harkin doesn’t care, she’s retiring at the next election. Would assume Canney is the same.

I think it’s fair to say that this entire Government has lost the plot at this stage. What way exactly would the Minister have liked things covered? There were enough media outlets batting clearly as if they were the Govt press office.
TheJournal.ie@thejournal_ie

Minister Patrick O'Donovan has said he will be asking Coimisiún na Meán to review RTÉ and others' coverage of the fuel protests. He suggested that coverage was "lopsided" in favour of the protest and that "carte blanche was given to some people". jrnl.ie/7011275t

@MuinteoirChris The optimist in me was hoping this was for MM to step down or that the Independents in Govt are pulling the plug. Think it’s more likely to whip the FF backbenchers into line.
