🚨🗞️ CLUB UPDATE 🚨🗞️
Mangotsfield United can confirm that Glyn Ashton has stepped down from his role as 1st Team Manager with immediate effect.
Glyn took the helm in November 2022, during the clubs first season in the Hellenic Premier Division and at a time when the club found itself in the bottom 5. Glyn, assisted by Matt Curry and Matt Doe, steadied the ship and oversaw the team go on a run of form that would see an 11th placed finish, but also win the Wiseman Lighting Floodlit Cup over 2 legs against Pershore Town, the clubs first silverware in a decade.
The following season, joined by Nic Mann, Glyn oversaw the side end the season mid-table, but finish off the season with a win in the GFA Challenge Trophy.
Season 24/25 was possibly the toughest ask of all, the club opened the season playing 18 away matches on the bounce, but excellent form in those games meant when Cossham Streets redevelopment was complete in November 24, and Glyn walked the team out onto its new playing surface for the first time in a 2-0 win against Slimbridge, there was an excellent platform to push on and the Mangos finished in 4th and in the playoffs, losing to eventual winners SC Inkberrow.
Glyn steps down, leaving the team mid table and in the quarter finals of the League Challenge Cup and GFA Challenge Trophy.
The Board and Committee want to place on record its sincere thanks and appreciation for the time and hard work put in by Glyn and his team over the last 3 years in this role.
