Okay, I'm gonna break this down REALLY simple... Humans have Primary Sex Characteristics, and they have Secondary Sex Characteristics. Primary Sex Characteristics are the HARDWARE: - Reproductive organs Secondary Sex Characteristics are the EVOLUTIONARY SIGNALING: - Larger breasts (I'm full of milk to support babies!!!) - Curvy bodies (my body has SO MUCH ROOM FOR BABIES, and so SOFT to cushion the baby!!!) - BODY HAIR (I am no longer a baby!!!) If we were birds our Secondary Sex Characteristics would big colorful feathers!!! ADULTS have bodies that are READY TO MAKE BABIES, CHILDREN DO NOT. ADULTS have Secondary Sex Characteristics to tell our dumb monkey brains I AM READY TO MAKE BABIES. So when you see an ADULT who DOES NOT HAVE Secondary Sex Characteristics our dumb monkey brain says "THAT LADY ISN'T READY TO MAKE BABIES!!!" and goes "ick." Now, because we are a HIGHER EVOLVED SPECIES our RATIONAL BRAIN (prefrontal cortex) is able to QUESTION our dumb monkey brain. "But you see, dumb monkey brain... this woman is OLD. She simply has not developed the big colorful feathers to signal to us! She is still TOTALLY ABLE TO MAKE BABIES!!!" But like with any argument, there are both sides. Some people listen to monkey brain (which is smarter than you think) and some people listen to rational brain (which is dumber than you think) Humans are weird.
