As someone who has worked as a caster for Pokémon TCG events in Japan, I really feel there’s a strong demand for Japanese coverage of overseas tournaments now. Japanese players have been achieving incredible results internationally in recent years, and naturally more fans in Japan want to follow those matches live. The English broadcasts are always great, but commentary is such an important part of understanding Pokémon TCG — explaining sequencing, strategy, matchup knowledge, and the emotions of the moment. From my experience casting in Japan, I know how much easier it is for viewers to connect with the game when they can hear that excitement and analysis in their own language. With so many Japanese players succeeding on the world stage, I think Japanese-language coverage for international events would be a really meaningful next step for the global Pokémon TCG community.
