Honoring military service and limiting it to a few hundred HOF baseball players is a very silly exercise. Gehringer was a great player. Roughly a million Americans were killed or wounded in WWII. Gehringer coached the Naval Pre-Flight School baseball team. Get a grip.

Actually the US prioritized Germany and Europe over Japan and Asia in WWII because Marshall et al recognized the former were more important - *despite* Pearl Harbor. Our successful WWII strategic logic would counsel focusing on China and Asia - not Russia and Ukraine - today.
