Nick Mackman Animal Sculpture

Populus, Denver, Colorado. A hotel inspired by aspen trees. Designed by Studio Gang @studiogang , Populus in Denver turns the natural “eyes” of quaking aspen bark into a sculptural façade of deep, organic windows. Opened in 2024, the 265-room tower is presented as the first carbon-positive hotel in the U.S. — pairing a nature-driven architectural language with an ambitious environmental agenda.
