At this point Mick Abel is pretty much a lock for the Opening Day roster. How do you send this guy to Triple-A? Once again peppering the zone at 96-97 tonight and inducing tons of whiffs.

@frightwigwam @Brandon_Warne Those are some pretty big "ifs." Relievers are volatile and unpredictable, which made the consistency of Jax (2nd in RP WAR since 2022) and Duran (7th) all the more valuable. The 'bullpens don't matter' narrative has swung way too far imo

@Brandon_Warne @NickNelsonMN It also shows that the difference between the Phillies/Rays & Twins pens is not that great—practically nothing if Jax/Duran have a down year or a Twins reliever breaks out. If you can flip a RP for an SP/bat who may be worth 2+ WAR in the near future, you should do it.
