@9thlyokowarrior most merfolk I my lore can transform into a land form by many means. but some do have birth defects that make them have two tails. this giving me an idea for one merfolk having legs and a tail.

@NickNexo17 You know what would be interesting? Merfolk with both a tail & legs at the same time. Basically, the pelvic fins would do double duty as the legs.

@9thlyokowarrior Mermaids in my lore have some behavior traits from the sea creature they are biased on. but dolphin merfolk has self-control unlike real dolphins.
