Plus hopefully it helps build interest in the game. It essentially means I will have a long series of demos to periodically release.

This way limited secret behind the scenes testing of small groups of trusted people would only really make sense for full builds. Which will still be important. However doing things this way means I can get feedback way sooner, more often and at higher volumes.

I’ve been thinking about releasing a build of Earthen Heart that is just one room of one dungeon for free. Just to gather feedback on the combat and make sure it gets tested thoroughly. The idea is for it to be a tiny little combat sandbox. I see no downside.

@jsmars @georgebsocial 100%. It's unfortunate that it often doesn't work out financially. However I'd rather those games exist. It drives me nuts when it feels like someone's game is noting more than a business venture. It's like they just happened to see indie game the movie before the apprentice.

@NickRawcliffeAF @georgebsocial Completely agree, I for one love playing the passion projects people have worked on for years rather than chasing the business of it too much.. Still a bit sad sometimes to see them not getting the return they would need to do it full time when they are clearly talented.

@jsmars @georgebsocial Not to intrude, but if we were to do the unthinkable and not make it about money for a second. If you care about making something good, there's a good chance it might take a while. Not that small can't also be good or that devs are adept at identifying good but, just saying...

@georgebsocial For sure, and in general I'd definitely say having a small scope project is the way to go for your first game and learn to go through the whole process. But I think if you want the chance to be one of the ones way over 100k, putting more time and effort will increase your odds.

@RobinEyreArt Anytime. I have to say I was very happy to learn solo play is a thing. Lots of games like this I feel left out because I wanna play solo. Looking forward to checking it out.

You may have been wondering where I have been since I announced I was focusing on challenges. Well, I litterally just 5 mins ago just finally beat fader for my next challenge video. It has taken that long. Easily my harderst challenge yet. Phew. Now it's editing time.
