Madison Bortstein of Ardsley scores her 1,000th career point. And the @GirlsHoopsAHS senior does it in typical Bortstein fashion, running down a loose ball and making a shot through a few defenders. Let Bortstein be an example. She tore her ACL 3 years ago. Questioned if she’d ever make it back to full strength. Played with the giant brace. Was timid around contact. Decided one day to throw away the brace and just play. Won a state championship as a junior. Now leading a team whose two other stars are sidelined with torn ACLs of their own. Never stopped playing and never put her head down. Congratulations to one of the mentally toughest there is in Section 1. @ArdsleyBball @ArdsleyPanthers @NEastElite @MBortstein_2
