@ethangach It's just interesting that this level of critique is limited to very specific company. If you're actually being serious about this, I would expect this level of analysis towards business practices of all companies in your reviews in the future.

@shallowbrigade I especially liked all the dudes who would argue Moore wasn’t really an “original” creator because they thought all he did in comics was stuff like Watchmen and League that riffed on or utilized existing works, as if Moore didn’t also have original creations

Lindelof was not a fan of Alan Moore. He was a showrunner who very cynically played off Moore's decades-long reputation as a crank in the name of promoting a show that Moore explicitly never wanted to be associated with. And as I remember most people ATE IT UP

too small a question. a large amount of my favorite performances onscreen are from women so we'd be here all day.
what i always find impressive is when a man does a really beautiful embodied female performance e.g. Louis Anderson as Christine Baskets or the dual performance given by Tamasaburo Bando in DEMON POND as Yuri and Sharayuki

@shallowbrigade If you’re open to it not being classic era King, I’d recommend The Institute. It’s kind of a spiritual successor to Firestarter without that book’s more dated elements but it still has a lot of classic King elements and the writing is punchy with a solid narrative
