@VesperNovae_ I'm so glad people are talking about this movie. Next to The Matrix, this is my favorite Wachowski film.

@KiteVR I was told we'd have flying cars in the future. Instead we got this.

@americanmcgee I really really loved this game. The levels and visuals were such an amazing use of id tech 3.
English

There was this one time at id Software when we were working on Quake 2 and everyone piled into Paul Steed's office to check out what Valve was doing was our tech. And there was a cinematic scene with characters moving around while a crane operating and multiple cameras panning around to convey some element of the narrative. Proper cinematic storytelling using the Quake engine!
And I let out a breathless "WOW."
The whole room turned around and scowled at me.
Ha. That was the moment I knew, "OK, well. I want to tell stories with this tech. And these guys don't."
That was why, on the day I was fired from id, I first cried... and then driving home with a box of my crap in the trunk of the car, I began smiling. Then laughing.
And the first chance I was given to do something on my own with that tech? Well, I pushed it as hard as I could in relation to surreal visuals and cinematic storytelling.
26 years later and I can still say "Wow."

@Ishack70 This looks delicious. Don't show this to the cheese police. They might get upset.

@KamenAmericaJPN I try to avoid processed food, but man, this stuff is my weakness.

@Psychedelic_Kig It's exactly how it sounds. AI images and videos with an AI inspirational voice over giving tips on building elaborate borderline fantasy gardens. Grandma doesn't know it's fake, but Grandma doesn't know where or when she is, either.

@VonClaytonGames @Arrrrash For sure. Despite me musing how to make it better for casuals, I hope Bungie doesn't change anything and stays the course. This game is fun, challenging, and frustrating, all at the same time. At this point, to lessen any aspect might rob it of its unique identity in the genre.
English

@NickiTens @Arrrrash I dont know, Im a pretty casual player and I've been playing it a ton. Progressing definitely takes effort and cry and ranked can probably be extremely frustrating. But again you get alot of safety nets
a big part of it is how seriously you take it imo
English

@Yeayeeeaa @VonClaytonGames @Arrrrash I emptied out my entire vault and wallet to other players at least once, and now its overflowing again. The game showers you with enough goods, but yeah, having to Free Kit against purple and blue shields is rough. For me, a single good Rook or Solo run can make up for losses.
English

@NickiTens @VonClaytonGames @Arrrrash Plus after a 12 hr shift who tf would wanna play a game where u lose everything you worked for. Call me casual but that’s my main reason.
English

@VonClaytonGames @Arrrrash The lack of any kind of safe-pocket is damning for casuals, as a match is all or nothing. That alone (or even a once a match single item DCON to Vault) could alleviate a lot of stress as less skilled players could claw their way forward bit by bit.
English

@VonClaytonGames @Arrrrash Def a hardcore game. Few are going to uncover all lore, complete all contracts, or fight the Compiler. Cryo & Ranked are being dominated by coordinated teams that are there to wipe lobbies. People aren't sticking around when they realize can't progress contracts or equipment.
English

@DrewRoo22 Worse. They tell you they're too busy to hang out, and 30 minutes later their Discord status shows they're in VRChat.
English

@hachapo They are much more rare where I am, as I have to wait for one to tour through my area, whereas it appears to be much more common and accessible in Japan.
English

@hachapo Malls don't have events like that anymore, and theme parks are an option, but the good ones are very far away from me. Most shows near me are limited to larger theater productions with expensive tickets. I still go see them, like the Spongebob the Musical and Disney On Ice.
