Sacking head coach Brendon McCullum would have been ”the easy thing to do” according to England and Wales Cricket Board chief executive Richard Gould.
McCullum, director of cricket Rob Key and Test captain Ben Stokes are all set to remain in their posts despite the 4-1 Test defeat in the Ashes.

@StickToCricket @MichaelVaughan Done a review just because it ticks a box after a dismal ashes, meaningless without any changes as such, now it will be as you were, weathered the storm let’s get back to doing what we want with no accountability

@Paul13399921 @RacesNow_ @racingoncourse ARC and BHA media rights etc, Newcastle the same the companies make more through outside revenue so subside the racecourse I believe. So there’s something for the wider audience to punt on.
English

@RacesNow_ @racingoncourse Steve how is that sustainable for a racecourse to survive with such poor attendance?
English

@HarrogateTown New personal same problems, switch off to easily at the back and can’t hit a barn door when in front of goal
English

@Luke_Elvy All the nobody’s interested and nobody turns up to watch haters disappear off the face of the earth all of a sudden
English

@hgate1233580958 @DStacey96 @HarrogateTown You could count those stats as metres forward and successful passes as when he dribbles forward 10 yards and successfully passes it backwards to slater 10 times a game, I don’t care about his defensive stats he’s in the team to create and score goals which he doesn’t do enough
English

@Nickokcc @DStacey96 @HarrogateTown I mean literally not true. Per 90 mins played, More progressive dribbles (metres forward), more chances created, more successful passes in the final third, and miles better in defensive stats. Literally the only thing Duke-McKenna is better on is finishing.

English

@hgate1233580958 @DStacey96 @HarrogateTown Smith looks pretty but offers very very little if you look at the bare facts, defenders don’t worry about him, the same defenders were put instantly on the back foot when duke had the ball.
English

@DStacey96 @HarrogateTown Ahh sorry didn’t realise you have literally never played football and solely base it on if someone scores or not. Reece Smith will end up at a better level than Duke McKenna and it’s not even close.

Tobias Brenan featured for the full 90’ as Harrogate Town secured a point against Cheltenham Town 🤝
The 1-1 draw extends @HarrogateTown’s unbeaten run to five games (2W 3D) - all of which Brenan has featured in.
A solid point on the board in their bid for survival.

@BBCYorkSport hope he goes on to make me sound stupid but what does aqua genuinely offer the team? Doesn’t run in behind, cant hold it up, yet to see him even have a shot yet? Love to know simon’s thoughts on letting cursons go seeing what he’s been able to do with a run of games
English

@CFCJnR Simple schoolboy stuff that never gets done if they want a spare man to stop counter you send 4 up to half way line when defending a corner they send 5 back plus keeper, 1 taking corner that leaves them 4 forwards to try win the ball against 6 defenders and a keeper.
English

@HTFCSeb2 @HarrogateTown They count ST holders even if they don’t attend so there’s 1000+ automatic on the gate
English

If this is genuinely what he thinks, his family and friends need to keep a seriously close eye on him, sounds like someone on the very edge of cracking up.

Simon Weaver claimed that @HarrogateTown could have beaten @crawleytown “comfortably” on “another day” following this afternoon’s 2-0 defeat down in Sussex. harrogateadvertiser.co.uk/sport/football…
