Searsy’s Back Where He Belongs 🧡🖤 We’re excited to announce that Dan Sears has returned to Stotfold FC, re-joining the club from AFC Welwyn. The 25-year-old centre-back is no stranger to The Fold. Searsy played a key role in the club’s rise through the divisions — winning the league at Step 6, securing playoff promotion from Step 5, and helping the team to a 7th-place finish in our first season at Step 4. After gaining Step 3 experience with Hitchin Town and a recent spell with AFC Welwyn, he now returns as a commanding, reliable presence who will once again enhance the backline. We started well and worked hard in the first half, but after the Buckhurst Hill red card, our intensity dropped. We got our goal but let them back into it right on half-time. At the break, I told the lads to up the tempo and really hurt them, but we didn’t do that until we made the changes. Once we did, we found our rhythm, scored our goals, and saw the game out comfortably. Sammy was outstanding again — my Man of the Match. He gives us that drive and intensity I’m always asking for. Unreal tempo in our game last night against a very decent Cockfosters side. I wanted a reaction after the poor performance Saturday and we got it. Sadly let down by some poor officiating. All big decisions went against us. But we take the point and move to Saturday

We had large amounts of possession against a very energetic young side. But we were ponderous and had no real pace in our attacks. We managed to come in 2 up at half time but I read the riot act as I wasn’t happy at all with our performance. 2nd half started the same and Colney got a goal back. That seemed to wake us up and for the last 25 minutes and we scored 3 really good goals and played some great stuff. Pleased to remain top going into a tough cup week. MOTM was Sammy nicks. Half time came at the right time for us. Second half we managed the game better and got the all important goal through a great move involving Courtney, Sammy and finished by Cammy.
