@ThomasHoufek The issue is the waste it pays for/enables. The dock workers' union is a perfect example - they prevent modernization of the ports, while literally paying half their members to sit home. None of these people are technically government employees, but the left enables their grift.

@unseen1_unseen The reason it’s only up 2.4% is because SSA COLA is based on inflation that’s calculated this month. The COLA for 2025 will be 2.5%. A far cry from the 15.75% (annual) that the dock workers have tentatively agreed to.

I knew this was going to be the case because, unlike the economists in their ivory towers, I bought groceries and gas last week.
