I think one piece is slightly different through. We are at 1180 chapters. How many successful manga have made it that far. One piece has a vast world and a lot to cover so I get the binge reading applying to it may be better. I also think one piece has had a huge impact on the business as a whole. Weekly structure may not be the best going forward, I have no idea on what would but I think change is inevitable with how big the anime/manga world is getting

I find the idea that One Piece is meant to be read in a binge interesting. Mangakas main task is to tailor their chapter by chapter structure to accomplish both short term and long term reader satisfaction. This means retrospective reviews of past chapters is essential when reading manga. If all of the above is true, then there are a-lot of things that can be written in the future that can make past chapters better OR worse. I also think invalidating immediate reactions to chapters ***entirely*** contradicts the weekly structure of manga releases. a chapter can be bad on its own but still serve a purpose for the greater narrative. This beckons the question, what is the “right” way to consume manga? Is there even a right way?
