To me, the animation looks great, but I’m not an expert. The work is 60 years in development and the most recent completed sequences are over 30 years, so I don't know how innovative it was at the time.

From Satoshi Kon, the filmmaker who made Tokyo Godfathers (above). A film about entering another person's dreams. Surreal dream sequences.

Star Wars fans always critique the choices of a new film for how it relates to the Canon. Directors are frustrated, believing that nothing satisfies fans. No matter what, they’ll be criticized by a section of fandom. So why do it? This is why Hollywood makes few religious films.

@FrankLuntz My first thought: How many of those adults use English as a second language? That's answered with 11 and 12. My second thought: What was that percentage in 1926? The evidence isn't exact, but studies estimate 20-40%.

24 packs of Ramen = $7.16 3 meals a day for an entire year = $326.68 Not fun. But 100% possible if you need to save money or get out of debt.

Just read the advanced copy and this may be one of the best books on discipleship I've ever read. We are excited to have Jeremy as part of our @TalbotTheology faculty— bringing the church and the academy as a Ministry Affiliate Faculty!

My next book comes out in October! Everyday Discipleship tears down the sacred-secular divide and gives a vision for following Jesus in all of life. It’s about discipleship, but through the lens of meals, work, rest, play, technology, art, science, mental health, and more.

@sygarte People make idols out of everything. The stereotypical reaction of "intolerant" fundamentalists to "blasphemous heresy" ... When people react that way about race, sexuality, politics, patriotism, etc. that's a good indication of where their idols are.

I think lots of atheists do believe in gods (but not in God). They call their gods by different names, like “advanced alien civilizations” or “The Universe” or even some humans (like themselves). It’s OK. Its perfectly natural to believe in something. God designed us that way.

@TVNewsNow @brithume @marklevinshow Politics has always been nasty. America has always been divided. The purpose of politics is to acquire government's monopoly on violence in order to threaten other people to do what you want without getting killed in the process. And its been highly successful.

🚨 NEW: Fox’s Bret Baier just gave an uplifting history lesson on healing America’s divides: “You think campaigns are bad now? This was the ugliest of ugly campaigns: Vice President Thomas Jefferson challenged the sitting President John Adams in 1800. They didn’t talk to each other for 11 years after that.” “But in 1812 they started writing letters to each other and by the time they died - both on July 4th - they became really close friends. My point is this: the common ground we have as Americans is something we need to rekindle. We need to remember to talk to each other before we do crazy things and make stupid statements. Listen to each other.” “As we get towards the 250th, take a breath and realize how great we have it,” adds @BretBaier

I was truly humbled and blessed to hear from so many women at the Kerygma Conference in Nashville who were using Evangelical Theology as their main textbook for theological study. Hmm, maybe a third edition? I'll have to ask @ZonderAcademic! amzn.to/3QMXe4n
