It's been an incredibly stressful week for a lot of indie developers. We've been having some fun at Unity's expense, but we also know that this is a serious issue with real-world consequences. The changes announced by Unity have not only broken that trust with their own users, but also damaged the trust that developers put in engines like GameMaker, Godot, Unreal and others every single day. For some, game-making is a hobby; for others, it's a livelihood. We know that you put your faith in us every time you open GameMaker. We know we don't always get things right, and we've made some missteps along the way ourselves, but we will always do everything we can to secure the safety and success of your games. Exciting news; Recently 4 new interns joined my studio and I've been teaching them 3D modeling and pixel art. Fleur, Tony and Guus are doing 3D modeling and Fiene will focus on pixel art (I'll share some of her amazing work soon!) This is after just 2 weeks of learning! 🤯

We were schocked after the #UnityEngine announcement came out in which their EULA has been changed, and where they started charging 0.20 cents per installation of a game. This is a BIG middle finger to us developers. We will be switching to #UnrealEngine or #GodotEngine .

We have been working on optimizing the models for #Rootlash so Destruction will be better displayed, stay tuned for more upcoming news! #GameDev #IndieDev #indiedevs #gaming
