@krassenstein Meanwhile the republicans make no effort to bring in universal health care with psychological care, no effort to reduce poverty to reduce mental illness, or bring in better more comprehensive background checks. So its just an excuse to do nothing.

When Republicans all shout "It's a mental healthy issue," obsessively over the next 2 weeks, just remember that they have been shouting this for years, and guess what! They don't really believe it or just don't care. In Sept 2022, 205 Republicans Voted AGAINST the 'Mental Health Matters Act' to expand school mental health services. ALL 219 Democrats voted FOR it. NEVER stop calling these people out for their hypocrisy! I won't, even if Republicans make lies up about me to try and intimidate me.
