In Romania, the PSD chose to vote with AUR, a far-right anti-European party, to bring down a pro-European government. What happened is grave. The EU Migration Pact exists to prevent unilateral steps like this. Migration decisions in one Member State affect all 27. That is why the EPP Group has advanced the new Return Regulation: credible migration policy requires controlled entry and effective returns, not shortcuts. As Alberto Núñez Feijóo has rightly stated, Parliament must be involved, and EU partners must be consulted.
