Liz Truss is getting £115,000 a year tax free allowance for the rest of her life, for being the worst, shortest serving PM ever. It should be revoked she is a disgrace and does not deserve a penny, RT if you agree.

Jacob Rees-Mogg (with 6 children who all go to Private School) has claimed that VAT on Private Schools is a class war that no-one is interested in. Like if people need to pay for their own Private Education not leeching off the State. RT if Mogg needs to pay x6!

Today, something astonishing has occurred in Cornwall! The @CBWPS1 has announced today that at Par, Spit beach, 6 Eider (2f 4m) including a female with three ducklings has been photographed. This constitutes the first breeding record of this species in Cornwall. How amazing is that! @BobBosisto @Kernowringer @LeeEvansBirding

Last saw head started Curlew J5 on the Camel Estuary in September 2023 with @GriggTan. Today, Tan & I saw her at her new breeding site in Gloucestershire. At two years old, she had secured a territory with her partner & laid a clutch of eggs 💫

The @_BTO @GWCTScience 2023 #Woodcock Survey results are out and show an ongoing decline of 35% in Britian since 2003, but a surprising 50% decrease in Scotland! Thanks to all the surveyors who helped collect this vital data, which will inform the future conservation actions.

Grim news for seabirds from North Sutor. Shows the importance of seabird long-term monitoring @smp_seabirds Thanks for your hard work Bob. Hope there is better news at your other sites.
Bob Swann@SwannBob

EMPTY LEDGES. First visit to North Sutor colony revealed the extreme impact bird flu, storms and rising sea temps have had on seabirds. Cormorants down by 36% to only 86 nests, shags by 60% to 60 nests and Guillemots down by a massive 83% on last year.

Incredibly emotional watching this Guillemot lay its egg today, alone on a ledge which once contained tens of birds. It's looking like bird flu may have taken at least 30% of our Guillemots, this egg our hopes for the future

UK is now one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world. It is a national crisis - and neither the Tories nor Labour have a plan to address it. So tomorrow I'll be leading a debate in Parliament on UK biodiversity loss - please encourage your MP to take part.

What has happened to all the Isle of May guillemots? The first egg was the latest ever but adjusting for that we should still be peak laying now and the cliffs are terrifyingly empty. Even those that have laid don't seem committed and are losing their eggs at an alarming rate.1/2

The miserable cold & damp weather continues in C. Europe even as the E. Med. endures record April temps. around 40°C. Birds are suffering with many nests lost to cold & wind. This video by @domen_stanic shows House Martins huddling for warmth at Škocjanski zatok NR nr. Koper 🇸🇮.

@clennonvalley Which highlights exactly how hard it is to manage unregulated activities undertaken by the general public. It's sad to hear that nearly 40 years on, disturbance of this kind is still an issue, pity it's always the 10% who spoil it for everyone else.

Slipway signs are I believe up showing restricted areas but kayakers and SUP’s don’t have to launch from there and don’t seem to read any information before heading out - same goes for jet skis even though they usually launch from slipway - plenty of info on mammals too there.
Nik Ward@NikWard9

@clennonvalley If this disturbance constitutes a wild life crime the Police should take action. If a breach of SSSI Natural England would work with land owners to address the issues. In this instance it's incredibly hard to control. Brixham harbour Master could help potentially. Slipway signs

Something needs to be done urgently Stand up paddle boarders and kayakers are only part of the problem but probably the most pressing. Selfishness seems to rule in today’s world of people who ‘seem’ to want to be involved in the natural world but haven’t got a clue!
