i have bad news DTC twitter isn’t gonna like this, but i reviewed the data In the last 4 years (extent of my data), not one founder/ceo who has achieved a publicly disclosed 9 figure exit in consumer was a digital marketer by trade / spent most of their time on ads Mostly product (think dermatologist, influencer) or straight business people you’re focused on the wrong thing

@signulll Wow, thought the same this morning. Managing uncertainty is the most critical under discussed skill. I say managing because it’s about navigating uncertainty effectively.

in the modern world, you need to master one psychological component of your being: you absolutely must be comfortable with deep levels of uncertainty at all times.

what is everyone using for voice dictation on mac? i currently am using macwhisper since it's free but curious if there is anything else better.

@ekmokaya Teams spend so much time on preparation. If you only play one way you give them plenty of data to develop a plan to counter your team and target your system's weaknesses.

@michaelmiraflor The Asian manga/light novel/webtoon model shows this can be successful (albeit production costs are much lower) but most content won't be a hit and you make it up by scaling and leveraging the eventual winners.

People still dunk on the idea of Quibi but there are multiple Chinese-based short form video drama platforms that are making tens of millions off American consumers. Most of the grocery store smut variety, but still. An emerging business model that no one’s really acknowledging.
