Today we said goodbye to Venk. She took a turn on Thursday and her body shut down this weekend despite everything we tried to bring her back. What a full, adventure-filled, joyful life she lived. May we all honor her by living on vibes a bit more often 💛

Good morning from the road trip! Here's how things are going today...

@LevParikian @Jellie42Davies Especially birds that call infrequently, ie. Red Kites, Buzzards etc. It has yet to recognise those but it's been so helpful for my recognition of different calls. I'm really enjoying it.

@Jellie42Davies I like that Merlin does it in real time (haven’t noticed the recognition itself getting worse, just that since I’ve used it – not long, admittedly – it seems to just ignore some sounds.)

I love the way the Merlin birdsong app, if it hears a sound it doesn’t recognise, sometimes just pretends it doesn’t exist. “I know all the birds!” “How about that one?” “There is no bird there.” “There is. Making a ‘p-yuu’ sound.” “There is no such sound. I know ALL THE BIRDS.”

@bunsenbernerbmd Had a GR about 15 years ago who didn't like walking on stones on the beach so he would walk across people's towels. He would shake his slobber at people. Then he stole a ham sandwich. He was pretty slobbery but a good boy, he had a bad day or good depending on how you look at it

We said goodbye to Hopper last night💔 Nothing helped her worsening pain. Her regular and 🇨🇦vets agreed we were beyond what Librela could fix. We had a great last night - paddled, swam, and Hopps ate a whole XL Hershey bar. She was the heart of the squad & we are lost without her
