@ikechukwuu338 @callmidavid Has anyone tried voiden.md? It's also offline but also takes the discussion somewhere else: to a programmable interface - instead of a fixed form that postman and others impose to its users. The other thing is the reusable blocks and plain text all the way.

@callmidavid To be honest, I’ve mainly used Postman and Requestly for API work 😅 Haven’t used curl much yet, but I’m planning to start using it more.

@Samaytwt Better in what sense? Voiden.md is the best alternative but at the same time it's not for everyone as it's doing many things very differently than postman.

@Shra_va_ni Voiden.md no questions asked. But it's not for anyone. If you liked postman and your only worry is the money then there are plenty of cheaper or free clones. Voiden is free but it's a totally new philosophy.

@pmitu @ProductHunt Postman's move is a textbook example of what not to do with a dev tool: monetize the workflow before the value. Devs tolerate friction, they don't tolerate feeling locked in. The OSS alternative doesn't need to be better, it just needs to exist and be trustworthy.

In case your were hit by Postman recent pricing change. They increased cost for small teams (and vibe coders of course) for API building. Someone on @producthunt forum recommended free open source alternative with local usage. I think it's a smart marketing move to capitalize on competitor's price hikes I'd bet that these guys traffic has already increased х10

this is the right approach. every dev tool I've used that tried to be everything ended up being mediocre at everything. lean core + plugin system means users only pay the complexity cost for what they actually need. learned this the hard way building CH-UI — started with too many features, had to strip back to what actually mattered

@debanjo_dev if your problem is 19 dollars then there is a gazillion other tools you can use for free. The question is if you want to always be in the lookout for tools in case the one you picked changed something.recommend Voiden.md (open source)
