FRIENDSHIP OF LORD KRISHNA AND SUDAMA
The story of Lord Krishna and Sudama is a timeless example of true friendship, humility, and selfless love. Both studied together at the ashram of Sage Sandipani during their childhood. As time passed, Lord Krishna became the King of Dwarka, while Sudama lived a life of poverty as a humble Brahmin.
One day, Sudama's wife encouraged him to visit his dear friend, Lord Krishna. Though hesitant, Sudama carried a small gift of flattened rice (poha) and traveled to Dwarka. The moment Lord Krishna saw his childhood friend, He warmly embraced him, washed his feet, and welcomed him with immense love and respect. When Lord Krishna received the simple gift brought by Sudama, He accepted it with great affection and understood His friend's hardships without Sudama having to say a single word.
Upon returning home, Sudama discovered that his humble hut had been transformed into a beautiful home, and his family was blessed with prosperity and happiness. Lord Krishna had fulfilled all of His friend's needs without ever being asked.
This sacred story reminds us that true friendship transcends wealth and status. Love, faith, humility, and selflessness are the greatest treasures in life, and Lord Krishna teaches us that a pure heart is always cherished by the Divine.
