I thought Finland had mastered the art of getting naked with strangers in hot places. Then I came to Japan and experienced onsen culture ♨️ Its different country with different rules. But the same love for heat, water and that relaxed reset your body understands immediately. 1/5

The best "palju" experience is when the weather is cold, the water is steaming, and getting out feels like a personal tragedy.

Finland also has something that reminds me of onsen in a way: palju. A steaming outdoor hot tub, often heated with wood, usually best when the air is cold. I call it the “ human soup mode” 😁 4/5

Palju is less formal than onsen and less intense than sauna. Just sitting outside in hot water and slowly becoming emotionally attached to the tub. Typically with good company.

Onsen, sauna, palju… Every culture needs a place dedicated purely for relaxing. No scrolling. No rushing. No pretending. Just being human for a while. 5/5
