Summary of the 49ers' 2026 NFL Draft. 33: Wide receiver who has to learn how to run routes. 70: Pass rusher who broke out when he was 24. 90: Running back who wasn't invited to the Combine. 107: Rotational defensive tackle. 127: Offensive tackle who has to move to guard. 139: Backup corner. 154: Project linebacker. 179: Another offensive tackle who has to move to guard.

Given the draft’s crapshoot nature, building a roster is like building a stock portfolio… obsessing over individual positions is only the hobby of those who don’t consistently make any money. Successful teams focus on portfolio-wide success. Can’t argue with the 49ers’ track record there. They’ve had one of the NFL’s best and deepest rosters year in, year out. They even won 13 games last season in the midst of a mass injury event. Facts matter more than feelings

And that's a huge part of the 49ers' decision to draft Kaelon Black. They need RB depth that can credibly stay on the field on passing downs. Protection is half that battle

At this point, you can just close your eyes and randomly draft anyone off of the draft board. It will be the exact same thing this team is doing.
