Ninewells Garden

This year for a bit of extra fun we are running a garden competition with 4 categories - A vase/bouquet of flowers - A Basket of food you've grown - A miniature container or wheelbarrow garden - A drawing/painting/artwork or photograph of your favourite green space.

Join us in the garden tomorrow for another edition of craft club. This week Sarah will show us how to craft these gorgeous beaded spider sun catchers. As always, free and all welcome. See you from 10-12, we will have the kettle on.

Expect the usual fun packed day with plenty activities and treats for people of all ages. We are also hosting out first even garden competition so keep your eyes peeled for information on how to enter. 👀

Thanks to generous funding from the Northwood Trust we are delighted to annouce Ali will be back in our garden teaching Yoga every week! Join our friendly class for all abilities each Thursday from 1-1:45pm All welcome along, even if you've never tried yoga before.

If you've ever struggled to look after plants, why not come along this Monday and build one that you will be able to keep alive no problem. We welcome back Sarah to our craft club to show us how to build our own plants using Pistachio shells!! Monday 23rd March from 10-12pm

Heres our gorgeous witch hazel blossom from a few weeks ago and a few tasters of the joys to come, nettles (as a delicious drink) and garlic - does much more than ward off vampires!

On Tuesday from 2-4 our practical plants group will meet in the garden. Join like minded folk to learn more about the wonderful collection of medicinal plants we have in our garden, how to identify them, care for them and use them to support our wellbeing.

On Monday 23rd March from 10-12, join us in the unique setting of the Leaf Room surrounded by nature and warmed by the fire with a cup of tea. Craft a succulent plant using pistachio shells. Something even the least green fingered of us will be able to keep alive! (hopefully!)

Tomorrow from 10-12 we welcome back wonderful Sarah to show us how to make some macrame key rings. Join us for a relaxing start to the week. Free Session, all materials provided. Unfortunately tomorrow's Sew and Share is canceled.

PRACTICAL PLANTS Tuesday 17th February 2-4pm Join our informal gardening sessions with a focus on medicinal herbs and plants and there uses. Learn how to identify, grown, harvest, store and use practical plants to nourish your body and home.

Our Craft Session with Sarah will return on Monday 16th February and Monday 2nd March from 2-4pm. Join our friendly informal craft class and learn how to make new things! On the 16th we will be crafting heart felt wreaths. 💞 hearts are for everyday not just valentines day!

Despite this dreich weather, our volunteers are back in full force and ready to garden! We have volunteering session Tuesday, Thursday and Friday so get in touch if you'd like to learn something new and lend a hand.

On the 6th February 2-4pm we will relaunch our Practical Plants sessions. This is an informal practical gardening group where we will aim to identify and learn about the amazing selection of herbs and medicinal plants we have growing at Ninewells Community Garden.

🎉 Happy New Year! 🌟 🌝 Just a wee January update. We will be taking an extend break from Volunteer Sessions to allow some planning for the year ahead. Join us back in the garden from 27th January.

If you have previously made a willow ring or would like to use any of your own decorations then please bring them along. All materials will be included and no skills or previous experience are required. All donations go into the running costs of the garden.

We've been having the most amazing Monday mornings with Sarah. She's taught us how to make some amazing Christmas Crafts and we look forward to doing the same on Monday. Join us for a cosy morning cuppa by the wood burning stove and get crafty with us.

Thanks to Chris Law MP for visiting our garden today, we had a great time chatting all things community gardens and look forward to welcoming him back - next time he will be put to work and help us prune our apple trees!
