Are we sure the Pacers couldn’t have acquired Zubac in the offseason and still kept their pick?
I know that Mathurin and Jackson made the salaries match perfectly, but the trade haul was more for Zubac than Siakam.
With Turner leaving in free agency, everyone knew Indiana was desperate for a center and they had to pay a lot to get one.

They couldn't have made a different move in the off season potentially including the 5th pick? Maybe even at the deadline?

What we know: most of this team is set up for this coming year and next. Zu only under contract (like most of the team) 2 years. We have no future losing this pick and 29.
