It’s so bad, I was watching more Ninjago with a friend just now (it’s his first time ever seeing the show) and even he kept pointing out how bad the ninja were treating Lloyd 😭

Little reminder the ninja mostly neglected Lloyd/didn’t pay attention to him until they realized he was the green ninja <3 That totallyyyy wouldn’t lead to any identity issues that would make Lloyd feel like his only worth comes from being the green ninja

Oh and while we’re at it can we talk about the fact Lloyd canonically hates himself and has suicidal thoughts. Because I haven’t moved on from that Because wdym Lloyd canonically is this depressed? Us Lloyd fans can’t even have an angsty hc because it ends up being canon fr 😭

@EvermoonXX That was the whole idea 🥲 That's why he's not just angry, but depressed, Lloyd has accumulated too much self-hatred and disappointment in his actions, and anger is more like a final cry of despair. He was wounded by his own kindness and mistakes

Damn, they all look ridiculous compared to original illustrations.. I get that they tried to stick the minifigure format with Wu, but their facial and body expressions are so stiff and lack improvisation. Kai's eyes are LITERALLY looking opposite way from where his head is turned

@Kayanimatez Chubby Lloyd is a depressive image linking his peaceful period to surrender to the Oni :’) In my AU he gives up, and extra weight signals his depravity. Left alone with his thoughts, Lloyd fell into stress-eating because he simply didn't know how else to relax

It's already surprising that a scene like that was allowed, but even now I wonder what it would have looked like without the censorship, given that it was apparently meant to be much cooler according to the writers

@TysonRedbird Not sure if this qualifies as a headcanon lol, but I love the idea that the more emotions overwhelm the host, the crazier they get 😭 Lloyd repressed his Oni side for so long that breaking down made him completely lose his mind
