In this internet age - the Commonwealth Union - a Non Governmental Organisation and Media Portal - was launched 5 years ago as the first global cyber community built on shared values working to bring the 2.6 billion peoples and the 150 million businesses of the Commonwealth of Nations and the MENA7 former British protectorates countries - together in Cyber Space. It is a cyber community of shared values. It does not run any businesses other than the media portal and its Advisory Board is focused on policies to strengthen the Commonwealth links and not on running any business affairs. It is independent of the Commonwealth Secretariat but reports comprehensively on the Secretariat's excellent work. The Commonwealth Union's mission statement is to promote the peoples of the Commonwealth, their activities and their busineseses; and not only their Governments. To bring the people and businesses of the Commonwealth closer together it is encouraging the building of business clubs. Using the media portal commonwealthunion.com, now viewed by millions of peoples in the Commonwealth and its diaspora, Commonwealth Union is helping to build - under a franchise arrangements 150 business verticals as cyber communities in multiple fields of busineses and services. These stand alone independent business cyber communities are funded and built by independent investors with independent boards and shareholders with a common interest in Commonwealth affairs and in increasing the Commonwealth Advantage. These are communities much like those in Facebook or Linkdin and are in this case, undepinned by 200 years of shared history and values. Of the 150 planned verticals so far, a dozen are being built as for example in August 2025 the launch of the Commonwealth Union Blockchain Network @CWUblockchain invested and chaired by HH Sheikh Saoud bin Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi of the ruling family of Sharjah with his Board of Directors and Advisors. He has has recently launched an̈ Commowealth Coin in April 2026 based on his Blockchain Network with its powerful Advisory Board. The other networks being built are Commonwealth Union Digital Banking Network, the Port Network, the Agricultural Network, the Airlines Network, the Smart Grid Network, the Hotels Network and so on. These stand alone networks are like clubs in cyber space and will develop through providing services to fee paying members as independent organisation and associations registered throughout relevant Commonwealth countries. As part of the arrangement, the works of these Networks will be reported by the news media portal of the Commonwealth Union where appropriate; bringing the peoples of the Commonwealth together in a shared journey. My final meeting as an officer of the @idualliance in Zagreb. The IDU is the conservative answer to the Socialist International: a global network of Rightist parties. In the 14 years that I have been involved, first as Secretary-General of the @ECRparty and then as International Secretary of the @Conservatives, I have watched it metamorphose from a low-key annual meeting of party bigwigs to a powerful alliance for free markets, national sovereignty and individual liberty. The transformation started under @WilliamJHague, continued under Australia's John Howard and New Zealand's John Key, and reached its apogee under Canada's tireless @stephenharper. As I quit my party affiliation to run the @iealondon, I wish IDU and my Tory successor every success. The world badly needs the vision that Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan brought in the IDU's early years.
