Yes he’s unhappy about it, fair enough. But he wasn’t unhappy about lending his voice to a fictional game that glorifies violence. And there lies the hypocrisy. His position isn’t ‘invalid’ it’s just morally weak. And before you try and get into: Well you don’t understand the game blah blah blah… on the contrary, I love Halo. Really enjoyed it. And YES, it glorifies violence. There IS nuance with violence as portrayed in fiction— look at Lord of the Rings for instance; does that glorify violence? I’d say objectively yes. It does a lot MORE than that of course, and they have written entire books about all the other messages—even the anti-violence ones. The point is, when you have PROFITED off of simulated ‘war’ that children play…you should maybe sit this one out.
