🤯 I just fed my recent paper to #NotebookLM and it auto-generated a 7-minute podcast about it! It's sometimes inaccurate, misses key points, and can get over-dramatic🤣 Still very impressive! Check out 2 minutes of the output:

Our UnconTrust database for studies of unconscious processing is now officially launched in an interactive website here: uncontrustdb.tau.ac.il And a paper describing the process and the validation is now published in “Scientific Data”: doi.org/10.1038/s41597…

Still studying the role of conscious perception in semantic processing. I presented today at #IVSS how unconscious semantic processing might be more extended than previously thought.

New EEG Inattentional Blindness (IB) paper with Michael Pitts, Enriqueta Canseco Gonzalez, @BradleyNJack, & @PammerProf. We find no evidence of an N400 to, nor above chance decoding of, related/unrelated word pairs when subjects are inattentionally blind to the word pairs. /1

If they hadn't given me constructive feedback, you would have seen amazing AI-generated images throughout the presentation 😅

The idea that AI will take over the world because we now have some computers that are okay at babbling is exactly pinpointing at what is wrong with the world: the idea that talking is more important than actually doing, making things. And gets paid more. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI_takeov…

Science Twitter: the last 19 days were a living hell for our Israeli colleagues. Their loved ones have been brutally murdered in their homes, raped and kidnapped. They spend hours sheltering from bombings. They feel scared, angry, & isolated. This is the time to show our support.

@AlonZivony Thank you for putting into words how many of us feel. One problem is that ppl will agree with you in principle but continue saying offensive comments. You can see this among those who like and repost your comments, but also like and repost the same offensive things we call out.

For many, the response in academia is what you might call "casual antisemitism". We don't think you hate Jews, but we have a suspicion that you don't really care that much. Is that true? Probably not. But many of you did a really bad job of making us feel otherwise

I think that most people either don't know, don't care to know, or simply refuse to emphesize with what Israelis are feeling nowadys. Instead of asking us, ppl just assume that we fit their own left/right politics, so they respond as if we're all just weaponizing being offended

@AjAqrabawi @ItaiYanai This is not a respectful answer. Is this how you answer questions in conferences? Where did you see hate? Insulting me does nothing but paint you and people like you as bullies.

@NitzM98 @ItaiYanai Perhaps read the original tweet and try again to comprehend my point, I know it can be difficult to understand simple arguments when your mind is consumed with hate.

We were so close.. In these dark days it’s easy to forget just how close the Israelis and Palestinians came to peace. There was even the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994. But then Hamas started blowing up buses & learned that terror does block peace. #HamasisISIS youtube.com/watch?v=jt3Ppq…

@AjAqrabawi @ItaiYanai A right wing extremist. Remind me of who assassinated Anwar Sadat, president of Egypt, because of his desire for peace after signing a peace treaty with Israel? What is your point?

@Michael_Gilead How many people in the poll were between 18 and 34 years old? I think a quarter of Americans are in that age category, so if the total sample size was 1000, then 125 out of 250 young people answered that they can justify the Hamas attack

American colleagues, can someone explain this to me? half of the young people in the US (until age 34) think the slaughter of 1,200 civilians is justified? What is this intellectual and moral bankruptcy? what is responsible for this?
