I can’t say enough bad things about this. This is why a lot of these guys are miserable to coach in summer ball and fizzle out in the minors.
They aren’t actually bus riding, grass stained, gritty players. They’re good when things are good.
It’s not the kids’ fault, though.

Man that’s brutal. Definitely the right call considering these power 4 players want to play pro ball. This prepares them because they definitely don’t play 162 games in 185 days in the MLB.

Is there a swing metric out there that tracks barrel firmness?
As in how little it gives when it hits the ball….maybe I’m tripping and exit velo is only related to batspeed and angle.
I don’t know how to describe what I’m asking but hopefully it makes sense.

@Cjones08 Great thought here Cjones08. But I don’t mean the barrel itself, I mean how much the bat goes backwards in the hitters hands. Does the ball push his bat back or does it stay firm? I see now I worded my tweet poorly

Having the resources to succeed and utilizing them to the fullest is nothing to be ashamed of. A lot of people inexplicably think otherwise nowadays.
It’s a moot point to even bring it up.
Be grateful to those who gave you opportunities and do your best to pay it forward.

Look, I love Cam Young's game, and he seems like a good guy. Cam Young was born on 2nd. The son of a club pro in one of the best courses on the East Coast. He had every opportunity and resource available to him to go do this. Something that is available to about .5% of golfers on the planet.

This is the right take. The old timers I know who truly care about baseball, and don’t have ego issues, say this same thing.
