United States Acted in Legitimate Self-Defense
One cannot expect nothing to happen when, for years, terrorists who threaten the national security of the United States have been harbored; when the country has served as an air, land, and maritime corridor for transporting narcotics to the United States; when democracy has been violated and an exodus of nine million citizens has been encouraged.
The dictatorship has protected Colombia’s narco-terrorists and has fueled violence against our people.
The United States has had to do what international bodies and the Venezuelan Armed Forces should have done but did not, as they chose the dictatorship’s bribes instead of upholding their country’s democracy.
May the Armed Forces of Colombia not fall into the suicidal act of protecting the dictatorship, as has been attempted through the so-called Binational Zone.
May the brotherly people of Venezuela find their path to freedom and collective well-being.
And may Colombia soon free itself from this destructive contagion.
