Let’s summarize where we are after a 40+ day Democrat shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security.
1) ICE and CBP are funded, thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts and the foresight of President Trump and Republicans in Congress.
2) After holding DHS and the American people hostage for over 40 days, Dems got ZERO restrictions that would prevent ICE and CBP agents from doing their jobs safely.
3) Due to Dem obstruction of the appropriations process, ICE and CBP will get even more funding through budget reconciliation.
4) Dems have once again established themselves as the “Open Borders, Defund the Police” party heading into an election.
5) Dem leadership has proven once again they can’t be trusted to make a deal.
Which begs the question if you’re a Dem senator or one of their left-wing supporters: What was this really all about?

Jose Medina-Medina, the 26-year-old Venezuelan man accused of killing 18-year-old Loyola student Sheridan Gorman in cold blood, was robbed, beaten and shot in the head in 2018 in South America. There’s bullet fragments in his brain and a portion of a skull is missing. He is now developmentally delayed, has the education of a seven-year-old, and can’t read and write.
Prosecutors say they have overwhelming evidence of his guilt: video that shows him in a mask, gloves, and dark clothes, hiding behind a lighthouse on Lake Michigan, and shooting Gorman in the back, killing her almost instantly.
He had no connection whatsoever to Gorman.

We’re going to lose the house in the midterms and Republican Senators are the reason why. The runway to fix this is getting smaller and smaller. They likely keep the Senate and maybe that’s all they care about but their weakness and inaction has obliterated voter enthusiasm.

My sources inside Cook County Jail say Loyola murder suspect Jose Medina was hauled back to custody after court today—then, in a chaotic turn, rushed to the hospital after becoming violently ill due to his tuberculosis. And inside the jail, he's been a constant problem. Sources say Medina is extremely combative, repeatedly clashing with officers and guards and turning routine movements into volatile situations. Staff have to mask up just to move him—even for Zoom court appearances—and any area he enters has to be decontaminated afterward.
