@vinaykesari Skeptical about Google getting the price right in India (Fitbit devices have historically been better priced than Pixel, but still).

@pranaykotas I guess it also depends on how you build that habit. In S'Pore, I've seen people using NFC-enabled smartwatches/phones to make payments on buses and at metro stations. Let alone NFC- I wonder how much people use UPI/QRC on public transit in India.

Why have NFC based payments and verification on phone not found traction in India? Most people are not even aware if their phones are NFC-enabled.

Cheese from India makes its mark globally… India made an impressive debut at the Mundial do Queijo do Brasil 2026, which is a vibrant international competition for cheese and dairy products. Four Indian products won medals, including 1 Super Gold, 2 Golds and 1 Silver. The Super Gold was won by Eleftheria Gulmarg (Brie Style), the Golds were won by Yak Churpi-Soft, Nordic Farm, Leh, Ladakh and Eleftheria Brunost (Whey Cheese) while the Silver was won by Eleftheria Kaali Miri (Belper Knolle Style). Congratulations to Mausam Narang and Thenlay Nurboo. Such successes strengthen India’s artisanal dairy sector on the world stage.

How can you predict what would be the outcome from the 2027 Census data? Especially considering that the freeze as per the 2001 amendment was to account for population control measures, which since then have been (presumably?) relaxed
Akhilesh Mishra@amishra77

Just a glance of what Congress has enabled by defeating the delimitation proposals of Modi Government. Now delimitation would happen on 543 seats only and as per 2027 census data (mandate of Constitution so would happen). Here is how Southern states lose out on 2011 census itself. Imagine what would happen basis 2027 data! This is what Congress has enabled.

@PranavDixit The "standard" around the world would be cards, right? You can pretty much use cards at most major shops in urban Indian cities.

I ended up tweeting about it anyway, so I guess I am crying siskiyan about my toote huye sapne 🫠 But no one reads my tweets (thankfully), so it kinda feels like I am just talking to myself.

I definitely need a vardaan, not as cool as Vajpayee :P But the point about toote huye sapne is so true. No one- friends, family, anybody- can listen to your problems after a point. I want to say "get cracking", but I know it's easier said than done.

I even thought that maybe someone will read my story, see something in me that I can't, and offer me interesting work (LOL). Then I read a line from Vajpayee's poem- "Toote huye sapnon ki sune kaun kiski... Vardaan nahin mangunga..."

@Fintech03 I know nothing about this space, but are you actually aware of farmers using an AI tool? Not asking this sarcastically. I have been told off by someone in the agriculture space before about how agritech (especially software based) is probably used by a miniscule % of farmers.

The article mentions startups, but it misses the specific deep B2B integration happening with India’s digital identity. In March 2025, Sarvam AI received govt clearance to integrate their LLM directly with the UIDAI (Aadhaar) backend. Their Sarvam-30B model is optimized for Agentic Workflows in 22 languages. This is the 1st time an LLM has been given permission to act as an agent. Imagine in the coming months a farmer in rural India update their biometric records/check crop subsidies via voice only interaction, bypassing the need for a screen entirely.

You can either choose to talk about the mismanagement of an event (day 2 was better it seems), or you can talk about the hundreds of conversations it has started on AI in India and abroad. Wait for Thursday when the bigwigs take stage; no one is going to remember any other day.

The kind of impact that metal music can have on people's lives sometimes is insane. For anyone who thinks it's just noise: (the beginning of Unsainted is hauntingly beautiful)

If (at least in your head) you were on your way to becoming "somebody", and then you end up becoming a "nobody", and then it's too overwhelming to become somebody again (because nothing happens overnight, and now you no longer have the patience to wait again)... Sigh. Tomorrow.

Two of India's prominent "thinkers"are offering a pretty expensive course on some "art of thinking" and writing. Whenever I come across these courses, I don't know what to make of them. There's nothing wrong in making money like this, but then what happened to "free knowledge".
