At least 6 classes of CFTR mutations exist in patients with a cystic fibrosis diagnosis. Class II mutations are most common and involve misfolding of the CFTR protein which inhibits its movement to the cell surface for physiologic effect. #OTILT ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

Ertapenem has favorable dosing intervals compared to other carbapenems with daily dosing as opposed to three or four times per day. In vivo half-life of ertapenem is 4 hours, while the other carbapenems show in vivo half-lives of 1 hour. #OTILT pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17488146/
