Maester Aemon didn’t get banished to the Wall, he literally chose a lifetime of freezing in black rags just to keep his own family from butchering each other. He was actually offered the Iron Throne first, but he knew his existence would just give scheming lords an excuse to spark a civil war against his younger brother. To completely remove himself from the political chessboard and protect his brother's claim, he took the black and gave up his royal name forever. It’s the ultimate sacrifice from a guy who cared way more about peace than a golden chair. He spent the next seventy years watching his entire dynasty slowly burn itself alive from the coldest place on earth.

How does a Targaryen born prince end up in the lowly ranks of the Nightswatch?

Did Vhagar have horns in her younger days?YES The question is ;; Do you think dragons lose their horns as they age? In an old interview show runners said she’s so old parts of her are literally falling off so it’s possible horns etc fell off I noticed Vhagar has no prominent horns, unlike nearly every other dragon, and given her incredible age, I wondered if they simply fell off over time. She still looks intimidating, but the lack of horns makes her design feel a little unusual to me. I’ve always wondered if she was born that way or if she lost them through old age or centuries of battle. It would have been a really cool detail if her horns had been partially broken off, serving as another visible reminder of the countless wars she survived.. #HOTD

I find it interesting how they portrayed Daeron in this scene, he seems chill and so real. I can’t wait for the moment he breaks free from all the abuse.

They actually rely on heavy-duty leather saddles equipped with thick safety chains and stirrups to lock themselves onto the dragon's back. Without being literally bolted down, the sheer wind resistance and vertical loops would throw a rider off instantly. That is exactly how Rhaenyra’s son, Joffrey Velaryon, died. During the Storming of the Dragonpit, he desperately tries to ride his mother’s dragon, Syrax, without a saddle, only to lose his grip high above the city and plummet straight to his death.
Kvng@Samthrilzz

How do dragon riders not just slip and fall to their deaths during normal flights? You're going 100mph on slippery scales with no windshield. Has anyone in the lore actually died from just slipping off a casual joyride, or are they relying on a leather strap? #HOTD

@peacockaffair Ultimate trade for real. He knew the Blacks were cooked as long as Vhagar was flying, so he sacrificed himself to wipe out the Greens' only real threat.

The wildest part is that it wasn’t desperation, it was a well calculated execution. Daemon intentionally went into that fight without locking himself into his saddle, knowing from the very start that he was going on a one-way jump. Aemond, on the other hand, was physically chained to Vhagar by his safety straps. He could only sit there completely helpless as Daemon leaped through the sky to drive Dark Sister straight through his good eye before they slammed into the lake.

In The final battle between Daemon Targaryen and Aemond Targaryen above the Gods Eye became one of the most legendary and tragic moments of the Dance of the Dragons. Riding Caraxes against Vhagar, Daemon faced not only his greatest enemy, but almost certain death itself. As the dragons tore through the sky in a brutal fight, Daemon made a final fearless move leaping from Caraxes onto Vhagar and driving his sword through Aemond’s remaining eye. It was a moment of pure desperation, courage, and vengeance, ending the lives of both warriors in one devastating clash. Their battle showed the true horror of the Dance of the Dragons: family destroying family until nothing remained but fire, blood, and ruin. 🐉⚔️🔥#hotd

@Des_line_ish No lies. He literally spent years flying alongside Vhagar when Laena was alive. He knew her blind spots better than Aemond ever did.

@NodeOfWeb3 Remember Daemon has been playing around with vhagar as the dragon of his dead wife, so he knows how to defeat it but it will also be his death. Daemon was a soldier and a strategy master while Aemon is just a boy with a big dragon.

@Plannqer Yep, the book specifically says he went through the eye with the sapphire. The animated short just got the details flipped.

@NodeOfWeb3 I’ve read the part in the book about this over and over and it seems to me it says Daemon drives Dark Sister into Aemonds blind eye. In the Histories and Lore animated short narrated by Oberyn Martell he says he drove it through his remaining good eye.

@SiezerW Bruh, calling a terminal velocity leap off a crashing dragon "easy" is insane. That's a 1-in-a million suicide jump.

The gap is assuming either of them actually gets the job. Neither does. In the lore, Rhaenyra appoints Lord Corlys Velaryon as her Hand of the Queen. Mysaria serves strictly as her unofficial Mistress of Whisperers, while Grand Maester Orwyle is a Green loyalist who spends most of her reign locked in a dungeon.

If Rhaenyra gets one chance to use the Rinnegan right after taking King's Landing, who does she bring back out of these three ? - If she picks Jace, her brilliant heir is back to secure her succession, but he only gets 5 years of life left. - If she picks Viserys, her father is back healthy and in his prime to legally validate her crown, but his mind can never understand or accept what happened while he was gone. She has to explain the war to a dad who thinks everyone still loves each other. - If she brings back Balerion the Black Dread, he's at peak size and she has 100% full control over him to instantly end the war, but she chooses a monster over saving her family. Who is she picking and why?
