It’s Halloween. The Thing is one of my favorite movies but Halloween set the precedent for what a slasher film is. It literally laid the boundaries for almost 48 years and counting. Without Halloween there’d be no Friday the 13th. Without Friday the 13th there’d be no Halloween 2. So this movies also spawned the horror sequel and horror franchises. After this even Psycho had sequels.

@Noelsferatu I haven't watched these since back in the day but i love a good 80s slasher I'll watch them over the weekend and let you know.

@bamagirl_4_eva I think it’s the original Doom soundtrack over and over.

@HorrorCarnival Ring definitely wins for me. But The Faculty is RIGHT THERE. They’re both great in completely different ways.

what’s your favorite piece of horror merchandise you own?

Your J-horror stack is solid—Audition, Ringu series, Cure, Pulse, Uzumaki, etc. Add these for variety:
- House (Hausu): wild psychedelic 70s trip
- Ju-On: The Grudge: raw cursed-house original
- Noroi: The Curse: chilling found-footage
- Kwaidan: classic ghost anthology (Criterion)
All have strong Blu-ray editions from Arrow/Criterion. What's next on your list?

@messedupfoods Reminds me of the singular wonton from the Lady’s Ghostbusters movie.

@cavalierremedy They’re very hit or miss for me. I’ve been to two and one was one of the best days of my life. The other was so busy I was only able to get one singular autograph and was pretty much trapped in one place the entire time because there were so many people.

Absolutely love it. Saw it for the first time when I was a little kid 25 years ago. I’ve watched it so many times that nowadays I throw on the blu ray for background noise when I’m doing chores. And I constantly just say “Beverly Marsh, Beverly Marsh” and then that causes me to reply to myself “Kersh?! I thought it said Marsh”

@therlwrites @PromoteHorror I would buy this because my nephew would fucking love it.

Never saw it. Not going to ever see it after your reviews but this was how I felt when I watched Cannibalism Holocaust. The gore is pretty intense but I can handle that. When it cuts to people actually slaughtering animals I am just so upset. The turtle in cannibal holocaust haunts my memories.
