Ouaddou changes tune on exhaustion, plots Africa conquest
Orlando Pirates mastermind Abdeslam Ouaddou has already fired a massive warning shot across the African continent, declaring that the CAF Champions League is his ultimate target for next season.
Speaking to Thomas Mlambo on SuperSport Extra Time, the Moroccan tactician did not mince his words regarding the club's trajectory after conquering local football.
"Next season the plan is to go and win the Champions League," he boldly stated, setting the bar sky-high for the Buccaneers.
However, behind the grand continental ambition lies a heavily fatigued manager.
Ouaddou candidly indicated that he was completely drained following the cut-throat, high-stakes climax of the domestic campaign. Pirates historically secured the Betway Premiership title on Saturday, completing an extraordinary domestic Treble, but the gruelling marathon has clearly taken its toll on the coach.
Having broken the club's agonising 14-year league title drought while simultaneously managing a packed fixture calendar, Ouaddou admitted the mental and physical toll has been immense.
Despite his self-confessed exhaustion and immediate need for a break, he seems to have backtracked on his wish for a break. The lure of Champions League football has got him excited yet again and he will look to be the hero once more by claiming the biggest title in continental club football.
The crown remains the holy grail for the Ghost faithful, who haven't tasted continental glory since 1995. Armed with a record-breaking defence led by goalkeeper Sipho Chaine, Ouaddou knows the foundations are there.
Once the fatigue clears, will the exhausted mastermind dust himself off to spearhead Pirates' ruthless charge for a second star?
We have everything that happened in 1994 and 1995. First Elections, Nelson Mandela, Springboks winning world cup and Bafana AFCON win.
We don't have anything to prove that they won Champions League just this pic. People are now saying it was 4team tournament called Champions Cup
Downs will always be a level above you. U celebrate winning the MTN8 & Nedbank Cup, they respond by winning the league. The moment you think you’ve finally caught up by winning the league, they raise the bar again and say, “catch us if you can”-then go win the Champions League 😂
Last year in October , Hugo Broos live on SABC Sport said Adams chose money over his career.
Grootman closed his ears, cut his hair and continued to work even harder. Today he’s an African Champion, and he contributed immensely to the the journey.
Guys are you aware that the $11000 a day that FIFA will be paying to each club for every player at the world cup Sundowns will transfer it to the player concerned 🙆🏾 at Pirates the players won't even smell a cent of it
Facts about pirates CAF champions clubs:

This image of ashy Okpara appears to be the only proof they have …he must come forward …we got some questions 😅
Mamelodi Sundowns legend Teko Modise named Aubrey Modiba as one of his top contenders for the Footballer of the Season award, praising his exceptional consistency throughout the Betway Premiership campaign.
Aubrey Modiba & Teboho Mokoena: Modise heavily favored the Mamelodi Sundowns duo for the top prize due to their week-in, week-out consistency and instrumental roles in their team's league dominance.
Relebohile Mofokeng: While Modise acknowledged that the Orlando Pirates teenager's "crazy numbers" make him an unforgettable standout, he stressed that holistically, the award should go to players who have consistently delivered throughout the entirety of the season.
