@hamiltondw2 We had both last year. Stoughton was .2% pro higher on avg and yielded 5bu/ac more. Not a totally fair comparison as the fields weren’t alm that close together. Stoughton will be taller, and won’t stand quite as good, but has the MR for fus where Wheatland doesn’t.
Looking for info on Stoughton Wheat from people who have grown it. Looking to eventually replace Wheatland which has been very good to us. Keep seeing its lower on protein? Is this actually the case. Thanks for any input. NE Sask is unique in how varieties perform. Thanks.
@farmboy1706 We’ve had really good luck with Meridian/Sakundiak. We have a couple with Vanguards and a couple with Kohler’s and we prefer the Vanguard. The new ones with the EFI seem to start really well in the cold.
Looking at new truck loading augers. Westfield vs Meridian vs Brandt. Gas motors. Vanguard vs kohler. What’s everyone’s experience? Currently running 10+ year old brandts with kohlers.
@BaldurBarons@BDuchek@valleyfield2008 We’ve got a Xerion with the big rubber and CVT. It’s not a huge advantage when out in the field, but it’s tough to beat when dumping into the truck.
Excellent field day of learning in Swan River at New Era Ag Technologies. Fantastic job they have done on our regional variety trials for peas, dry beans, faba beans, soybeans, and pea leaf weevil seed treatment trials. Congrats! Their research division celebrated 10 years!
Question for you oat guys. Seeded Anson oats this year around May 27-28th. Crop looks excellent, nice green leaves, waist high, but they haven’t headed out yet. Is that normal? 90lbs of N, 60lbs of 11-52-0. Applied fungicide at flag leaf. Just seem to be slow growing. #AgTwitter
Looking for a new tool box option for my truck, does anyone know who could set me up with this style of tool box and swing out mount?
Would like it to fit under my box cover and a sealed tool box for dust.
