@jimcosman2 If the Republicans can prostitute The Gospel for political power, nothing stopping the Democrats from doing the same. Trump brought traditional Democrat values and strategies to the GOP... the Dems are looking to do the same swap.

Sam Altman said people saying “please” and “thank you” to ChatGPT costs OpenAI tens of millions of dollars a year in compute. 67% of Americans do it anyway. Run the math on why. A 2024 Waseda University study tested LLM responses across politeness levels in English, Chinese, and Japanese. Impolite prompts produced measurably worse outputs: more bias, more errors, more refusals. Moderate politeness consistently beat both extremes. The mechanism makes sense once you see it. Polite prompts pattern-match to higher-quality training data. When you write “Could you help me structure this analysis?”, the model pulls from professional, well-reasoned text. When you write “give me the answer,” it pulls from Reddit. Google DeepMind’s Murray Shanahan explained it simply: the model is role-playing a smart intern. Treat the intern like a colleague, you get colleague-quality work. Bark orders, you get minimum-viable compliance. Now look at the cost side. OpenAI handles over a billion queries daily. Each GPT-4 query uses roughly 2.9 watt-hours, ten times a Google search. But OpenAI just raised $40 billion at a $300 billion valuation. Tens of millions in politeness tokens is a rounding error on a rounding error. 67% of users do it anyway, and 55% of them say it’s because it’s “the right thing to do.” They’re maintaining a behavioral habit that governs every other interaction in their life. The parent who teaches their kid to say please to Alexa isn’t doing it for Alexa. They’re doing it because the alternative is raising someone who learns that being rude gets faster results. Telling 900 million people to stop saying thank you so OpenAI can save 0.01% of operating costs is the most engineer-brained optimization take on the internet. You’re training yourself to treat every interaction as a transaction. And that habit doesn’t stay in the chat window.

@dominos - For real? Corporate might need to step in. This is the third time at this location. Kept trying to think it was just a temporary problem. This was at 7:45. Called to cancel- hence, the last screenshot. I actually ended up being on hold for 20 min before I gave up.

It is now crystal clear that Kid Rock is not regenerate. There is zero chance. Just since Sunday's halftime show, he has doubled-down on his profanity-laced and suggestive song lyrics. He has flipped off his critics. And in an interview posted this Monday, Laura Ingraham asked him specifically how he chooses what to sing when he knows when families will be present, and he basically said, 'When you come to a Kid Rock show, you know what you're getting.' I learned this morning that Kid Rock has professed to be a Christian for about a decade. A. Decade. This is not how a Christian responds or thinks. It's been disheartening to see, once again, people who should know better (some in my theological orbits) jump on the celebrity-turned-Christian bandwagon and give him applause. When are we going to learn our lesson, folks? How many times must we see this movie play out before we exercise a bit of caution and discernment? foxnews.com/video/63890084…

Statement on Video Depicting the Obamas I just spoke directly with President Trump regarding the offensive Obama ape video that circulated online. The President assured me clearly and unequivocally that he did not post it. He understands the painful and racist history in America of depicting African Americans as apes, a tactic long used by white supremacists to demean Black intelligence and humanity. He knows this is wrong, offensive, and unacceptable. The President made it clear to me that this post was made by a staffer and not by him. My recommendation to the President was direct and firm. That staffer should be fired immediately, and the President should publicly condemn this action. This kind of insensitive and racist communication does not reflect the heart, values, or leadership of the President of the United States, nor does it represent the America we are striving to build. Historically, the intelligence of Black Americans has been questioned and attacked in shameful ways. From the era of slavery, when enslaved Africans were falsely portrayed as inferior to justify bondage, to the Civil War, when Black Union soldiers were often denied officer ranks despite bravery and leadership, to the Jim Crow era, where racist pseudoscience compared Black people to animals in textbooks, cartoons, and propaganda. Even into the modern era, these same ugly stereotypes have been recycled to undermine Black achievement, leadership, and dignity. Racism must be confronted, not excused. Accountability matters. And leaders must always speak clearly when lines are crossed. #SpiritualDiplomat

Upholding our bipartisan democratically created laws is what justifies it. My point is your own hypocrisy. I am sure that there was zero outrage from you until now on this matter. Meanwhile, nothing has changed, ICE has operated in the same manner for decades. The only thing that has changed is violent leftists attacking the

Notice that many start this story after Pretti was blocking traffic. An agent engaged him to stop him obstructing and he resisted. The chaos that followed was a direct escalation by Pretti. I wish he wasn't shot, but also he made many mistakes that are being glossed over.

So far, it looks pretty awful. If the dude was just filming, stepped in front of a woman being pepper-sprayed, got pepper-sprayed and tackled, made no move for his gun, and then was disarmed before shots were fired, that looks like murder.

@TheLaurenChen I don't care about angering leftists but the agents should not be allowed to wear masks, should equire wear consistent uniforms, required to have a judicial warrant to enter any private premises, and should be required to coordinate and have local police presence for operations.

If you're the type who supports deportations, but doesn't like what ICE is doing in Minnesota, what would you do differently? Genuine question. What could be done that would be "gentler," and not anger leftists and still result in the expulsion of criminal illegal aliens?

I do not support the right to keep and bear arms for just one group that defends me. The right belongs to all people. It is inherent.
