#l3vegroup2 @Nature_Rhetoric The slow music is setting a darker tone for the video, supporting the argument that unfortunately, Zoo Atlanta doesn't truly care about conservation.

#l3vegroup1 @Nature_Rhetoric Trees Atlanta seems to be moving in the right direction by allowing all people to volunteer, with no restrictions. This will let word spread faster about planting trees and sustaining the argument.

#L3VEGroup1 @Nature_Rhetoric Great use of visual affordances by including a smaller screen of a group member talking while the tree planting was happening in the background. It kept the audience engaged in the video the whole time.

T is having a Benjamin button type life. Young T only cared about money and success where as older T starts to see a meaning for his life in the animals. Knowing "it would be men that were last" is emotionally draining T. What will he do to stop extinction? @Nature_Rhetoric

A solution that would need a lot of resources to implement to the zoo problem would be nature preserves for these animals. Similar to what is in Kenya now, these exotic animals could live in their own environment in the US rather than being confined in zoos @Nature_Rhetoric

Although harambe's death raised a lot of attention for issues relating to zoos, there's got to be a better way to raise awareness for zoos than by killing the animals they're meant to protect. How else can all the public be motivated by zoos? @Nature_Rhetoric

Is T having a mid life crisis now similar to his father? Ever since Beth's death even his own development didn't excite T. Now with the zoo he is finding his purpose. All of this is sporadic and makes T seem like a man who is just lost right now. @Nature_Rhetoric

The only way for T to feel passionate about something other than success is when nature is involved. This is seen with the coyote, his dog, and the zoo. What is so different about nature that it makes T show actual emotions? @Nature_Rhetoric

T states that empires only look good when built with a back drop of oceans and forests. This sounds very similar to the beauty petal's purpose of inspiring vivid emotions due to the contrast in manmade structures and the nature surrounding them. @Nature_Rhetoric

There can't just be 11 ways to create a video essay. What are some other ways video essays are portrayed in in today's media that aren't mentioned by Bateman? All of the forms he mentioned can be found on YouTube so that may be the best place to look for more @Nature_Rhetoric

Could the news industry change the format of how their programs present the news? Rather than having an anchor speak solely on the issue, a video essay approach could allow the news to garner more viewers in a time when cable ratings are decreasing @Nature_Rhetoric

As film changes with time, the video essay presents a front for documentaries to change. By making them shorter and more direct, docus could churn out more information and topics while expanding the audience to those who like shorter videos. @Nature_Rhetoric

Crazy how the only emotional connection that T has is with a dog. Nature seems to be the only thing that can sometimes help others form emotional connections. Is this special connection the reason why we bring puppies in for finals week? @Nature_Rhetoric

Slaughterhouse-5's theme of ptsd is seen when T's mom references Dresden. Much like the ptsd that the bombings of Dresden caused, T's mom is having trouble coping with her husband leaving leading to some preliminary forms of ptsd @Nature_Rhetoric

So far, T is seeming to be a symbol for the once corrupt Catholic Church. Hundreds of years ago, the church acted in the same way as T does now, insisting on a net positive effect while still reeling in dirty money from "protection" and good deeds. @Nature_Rhetoric

Why does the speaker refer to Jackson's slaves as a manservant rather than a slave. This word swap makes slavery seem less evil than when using the word slave. Is it because T. Idolizes Jackson and thus doesn't want to see the president in a bad light? @Nature_Rhetoric

Ian's letter also needs to be formatted to look like a letter. Adding an address and left justifying the paragraphs will fix this. Some sentences are too wordy or don't exactly get the point across clearly, so fixing the wording could help get the message across @Nature_Rhetoric

Ian's letter introduces a lot of ideas, but doesn't exactly fill the reader in on what the ideas are. Adding more textual evidence could help this a lot. In addition, some parts felt repetitive but that kept the letter on topic the whole time. @Nature_Rhetoric

Grayson's letter also seems more like an essay than a letter. It seems like he's writing about the topic rather than persuading the president to read it. Maybe try to cater towards the audience and try to persuade rather than inform. @Nature_Rhetoric

Grayson's letter has a good set of organized ideas throughout the writing, but lacks the formatting needed for an actual letter. Overall his presentation of ideas sends a clear message on his stance. @Nature_Rhetoric
