I stand by what I said. Raw ability and technique wise, I haven’t seen any better at Clitheroe. Yes, he has off games but don’t agree with the body language or out of possession comment. This season especially he has really massively improved defensively. Newcastle Town away comes to mind where he was essentially playing at wingback! As for body language, he often seems unfazed but as a player who’s biggest asset is going man-to-man, taking on a fullback, I think this is a positive as he just keeps going and doesn’t get disheartened if he doesn’t win his duel. When he first came to the club 3 years ago he was predominantly a flair player but he has matured and grown a lot in that time since. Physically he is a lot stronger and more resilient and his end product has come on leaps and bounds. His ability on the ball and weight of pass is frightening and will be a real asset to Bury for unlocking defences, especially as they progress up the leagues. Couldn’t be prouder of him and for his family who have worked so hard to get him an opportunity like this.
