Sometimes it’s the little things; like finishing work and treating myself to a new book for the weekend, having a couple of hours to myself, not having to hold a conversation. The older I get the more I enjoy my own company.

@MeetTheNeeds As an exams officer who has to pick up the pieces when students are told this it make me mad. Year 10 mocks are a practice run for them to learn about exams, what it will be like and what to expect. It is not a time to frighten children to death so they fail😡

My youngest is sometimes crippled with anxiety because of professionals pushing this view. Year 10 mocks are EVERYTHING, if you don’t do well you’re DOOMED. Don’t think she’s ever had less than 70% in any test ever, but she’s terrified…not ok

@Nonas She was meeting him at 1am & called me at 2.30 because she couldn’t find him. Went to his parents, went to his friends, driving home they saw him staggering by the road, the police were in front & they stopped at the same time. Luck really! She was traumatised at what she saw!

I am so bloody angry with the world we live in. Daughters BF was beaten up badly last night in Exeter, watch & phone stolen. Found by the police after my daughter couldn’t find him when picking him up. Been in A&E since 4.30am and only just seen! She’s a strong cookie 💙

@Nonas Yes he’s home but has a broken nose & rib, stitches in his head. They think they went up behind him, hit him with something on the head, then jumped on him & kicked him. She’s not ok, what she’s seen has affected her but I’m sure she will be x

@thosethatcan I’m an EO and this year has been so hard. I feel for the students who worked hard and didn’t get the grade they deserved and the teaching and support staff who work so hard to support them to be judged as not performing. Nothing seems to make sense except how broken the system is

Erm. Were the #GCSE results a bit… random? We had a few curve balls in this house (both directions) but speaking to others, gaps between predictions and reality seem almost bizarre. Wonder about patterns across subjects…?

On the waiting list for a diabetic appointment to get a Libre (scanner). No ambulances for a week now 😌, I think everything is back on track but having an alarm to let me know if I’m about to become unconscious will give me peace of mind, particularly when I’m home alone.

@pdcornish76 Thanks Paul, just a supportive smiley face with no demands would be great 😊 in rational reality there is nothing I can do more than I have and it is in the boards hands not mine. The negative mind is very powerful at making you doubt yourself sometimes.

So this week is the first of my 2 weeks of exam results and the anxiety of going into work is off the scale. The dread of what could happen and any fallout is real and I know it’s my brain catastrophising what will prob be the complete opposite but I feel awful😢

@Nonas You do a fab job Fi, but I completely get where you’re coming from. I can’t offer you any words to make you feel better because I know they won’t, but make sure you look after yourself, you are the most important person right now, and your mental health. Love you ❤️ x
