In my 15 years of Sports Journalism - I have covered five National Sports Festivals, and there has never been a time that Team Anambra missed any edition. Not in the last decade, and certainly not when Peter Obi was Governor. They have always participated. Less than a month after taking office in (March) 2006, following the removal of Chris Ngige by the courts, the transition did not impede Anambra from sending a team to participate at the 2006 Gateway Games in Abeokuta In fact, the Local Organizing Committee (LoC) could not alter the brochure for the Games, which they had already prepared ahead of time; still showcasing Ngige as the Governor, one month after PO had resumed. If he wasn't keen on sports, he could have used an excuse that he was still new in office, and not release funds. Anambra might not have fared so well at that Games, but they competed. You just summarily tweeted that they never sent a team, when there's so much proof on the internet that they were at all the NSF when PO was Governor.

The concept of a man who as governor could not sponsor his state’s team to National sports festival or even build a township stadium telling Nigerian youths the usefulness of sports and they’re lapping it up. All of you love Fugazi. I hope he wins so you can witness it in 3D

@Equityoyo That's the main reason why you should support ADC to field Obi, so that Tinubu won't have a strong opposition.

President Tinubu has only mentioned Peter Obi once since 2022. That's really how irrelevant the dude is to him. However, I can't count the number of sub to Atiku from PBAT

@SuccesCareer @Letter_to_Jack The South is with Tinubu, Obi is not a threat to Tinubu in the South, where the real votes are in the North, and if Atiku has that, Tinubu will have a problem. North has all the cards in 2027.

The opposition path is clear, secure the South East, North East, and North West, then split the South South and North Central. Anything that deviates from or alters this calculation is pure foolishness.

If ADC presents an OK ticket, will the North vote for it? Would they stick to their party APC, or has this government affected them enough to vote against it? I'd still prefer a 3 horse race than a 2 horse race until I know what's in the heart of the North.

What's even the political weight of Kwankwaso? My 2023 prediction was wrong because I thought he'd take chunks of the Northern vote, but Peter Obi had more votes than him in the North. Probably, the PDP structure played a role or maybe they preferred Atiku.

Most of the time, I’m genuinely confused about Nigerian politics. We say we want to remove PBAT because he is "not competent", and then in another breath, we talk about an Eastern and Northern alliance to serve the interests of the Southeast and the North. So I have a question. I actually have a lot of Obidients who interact with me in my comment section, and, to be fair, they are very civil. So I want to ask a direct question to Obidients, and to anyone who can answer, regardless of who you support. If the Southeast wants to remove the current president because he is "not competent", but then wants to replace him based on ethnicity and regional interests, how does that make sense? If it is about ethnicity and tribe, then I think the Southwest should complete its eight years. After that, the North and the Southeast can take their turn. That would at least be consistent, because we claim it is about good governance, but in reality, it often comes down to tribal interests. And there is nothing wrong with admitting that. Interestingly, I have never heard Peter Obi clearly state what he would do specifically for the Southwest. I have heard him speak about plans for the North and the Southeast, especially Aba, which he says can rival oil revenue. But the Southwest is already a major economic and industrial region, covering sectors like fashion, tech, and commerce. Not once have I heard him acknowledge this or outline clear plans to further develop cities like Lagos, Ibadan, or Ogun State to generate more. In fact, the only time I’ve heard him speak about the Southwest is in the context of “it’s our turn,” talk or comments like “where are you buying bread?” So are we saying we should remove a president from the Southwest, who is assumed to be working in the interest of the region, and replace him with an alliance that will prioritize the Southeast and the North? Let’s be honest: are we voting based on competence or ethnicity? If it is ethnicity, then fine, let the Southwest complete its eight years. After that, the Southeast and the North can have their turn, followed by the South-South and the North-Central. At least everyone will know they had their turn. But we need to be honest with ourselves. Why do we say one thing and then cover it up with another? It simply does not make sense to me. 📷: see tweets below ⬇️

There might be apathy in the far north with an Obi/Kwankwaso ticket, but not in the Middlebelt. The Middlebelt and the South will vote MASSIVELY for the OK ticket, as will the North East, especially Adamawa, Gombe and Bauchi, and pockets of the Northwest, like Kano, Niger and Jigawa.
Abdullahi Jalo@abdulljalo

Atiku/Obi. There is going to be massive apathy in the South. Obi voters won't turn up even if they don't vote for Tinubu Obi/Kwankwaso. Massive apathy in Northern Nigeria with some going the way of Tinubu. This is the political reality but you will argue

Uche Ekwunife is from Aguata in Anambra south. She represented Anambra Central in the National Assembly as Anambra central senator. She did that cause she’s married to Anambra central. Marriage makes one a Bonafide member of that Igbo community and can give opinions etc.

And yet Anambra went from nearly dead last in education, with a 90%+ school dropout rate, to FIRST during his tenure. Anambra North that was essentially cut off from the rest of the state was finally opened up during his tenure. ALL COMMUNITIES in Anambra were interconnected by roads during his tenure. No single pensioner was owed during his tenure. Capital projects were going on during his tenure. Ibu afo nsi. I have so much respect for your father so I won't say he gave birth to a fool, but in reality that is what you are, a compound fool.
Yul Edochie@YulEdochie

Peter Obi built nothing in Anambra when he was Governor. No schools built by him, no factories, no companies, no malls, no major projects, nothing. He didn’t even build his own people, never invested in anybody. No Anambra man can tell you he’s successful today because of Peter Obi. You can’t build your state, you can’t build your people, so what are you going to do as President?
