IGBOS are generally doing very well (Nigerian standards ) infact we are THE BEST according to all available empirical data . Don't let anybody brainwash or gaslight you We just need to raise the standards to regional levels (West Africa and Subsaharan Africa )

You’re a th!ef and a stark illiterate who can’t tell the difference between a single motif which your sources are focused on and an entire craft. Akwete is a massive clothing industry with over a thousand distinct patterns evolving from the Igbo 9th century textile weaving tradition that predates the arrival of Ile-ife with sand to mould you. Obsessing over one design that your sources is pointing at just proves you don’t have the range for clothing discussion. Akwete literally translates to handwoven textile. Thanks for the self-own goal. Your own source in frame 4 admits Akwete weavers already had their own ikaki/move motif and even calls it an “older example”. That means the motif already existed within Akwete tradition before any Ijebu version came around. My source in frame 1 seals it: the tortoise is the hero of Igbo fables. It’s indigenous royalty, rooted in our stories, not a copy of yours. I do not have to show you history books to prove we traded indigenous cloths that even Crowther himself took to Yoruba land. 9th century Igbo Ukwu excavated physical textiles is already a scientific evidence that isn’t up for debates. What was found in Yoruba land were nothing but seeds. No textiles. Frame 3 shows your ancestor Crowther’s collection which includes Igbo clothes that he himself classified as an original production.

Akwete is Yoruba? It’s indigenous in Yoruba land. You just embarrassed yourself

Not really , HDi stat no dey check how fine or aesthetically pleasing your roads . E no dey check if e get kerbs , shrubs , trees ,sidewalks , gwogwotigwo Once it's motorable , that box don tick
emekuzi@micho_xyz

You're not the only one. I really have doubts about all statistics concerning Nigeria or SSA, especially financial and demography stats due to the inherent nature of SSAs. On that HDI stats, our environment has to start reflecting that stats because the current state is abysmal.

We have the highest HDI in sub Sahara Africa, 4th in the entire continent. We need to top this list because we can. We need to invest in Education, not just in STEM, but in sociology, anthropology, humanities and art.
