He didn’t wear that mask to cover his face because he doesn’t look good. How does that make sense that an idol will debut if they don’t pass the criteria of being good-looking? He has been handsome eversince, and the mask is part of their concept, No More Dreams, as directed by Bang PD. In an article on the IZE website, he clearly said there “There's a lot of negative things about wearing a mask. First of all, it's really hard to breathe and it gives me bad skin. I have to put it on straight after singing but depending on the type, there are some masks that don't pull up that well and it's hard. But lots of people recognize me because of it so I'm happy.” He also released a collab song with Jo Kwon ( Animal) in 2012, pre-debut, and did not wear a mask there. He is the face of Big Hit Audition in 2011 to recruit new trainees. That mask was never because he wants to hide his face. 2.) He received letters even BEFORE debut, Jimin just kindly distributed those letters to everyone it it’s not the first time j-hope received a letter. Yes, he once checked their new vlog for emails and he didn’t receive one addressed to him DURING that moment but so are the other members except Jimin and SUGA and V who is a surprise member.
